Steve Carell and Tina Fey are funny together, and while Date Night is no major feat, it does have laughs, thanks to their charisma. The two play a married couple who have fallen into a humdrum routine. One night, they decide to step it up and go to a classy restaurant, only to find themselves the victims of a serious case of mistaken identity. Car chases, gunfights and some decent giggles ensue. This film doesn’t represent the pinnacle of the careers of Carell and Fey. Still, Date Night provides them with enough fuel for laughs to get through its 88-minute running time.
