Vince Vaughn and Jon Favreau have both acting and writing duties in this complete waste of time. When a couple played by Jason Bateman and Kristen Bell finds a great group rate for an island-paradise location, they rope a bunch of friends into going along with them. The catch is that all of the couples must take part in counseling sessions, or they can’t stay. Most of the humor in this film is targeted at Jon Favreau’s crotch, including a massage scene that just doesn’t seem right for a PG-13 movie. There’s also a lot of dumb humor involving a yoga instructor who wears a Speedo and dry humps his students. This is yet another movie that Vaughn is expected to carry with his fast-talking routine, and he takes most of the blame for its lousiness because he also produced. Peter Billingsley, Ralphie from A Christmas Story, makes a sad feature directing debut. Also stars Kristin Davis, Malin Akerman and Jean Reno in a pathetically unfunny role.
