How did we ever get through a Sonoran Desert summer without our cowboy swimming pool, aka the stock tank? Made from galvy metal, and big enough for two, we fill it up every year as soon as we hear the first cicada. Five minutes in the stock tank on a simmering July afternoon realigns your neurons and cools down your body fat for a couple of hours. Twice a week, siphon the water off into the garden before the mosquitoes, algae and monkey-funk develop. We got ours at the landmark OK Feed and Supply.
