STAFF PICK: This crosstown route is the best way to beat rush hour traffic on Broadway or the facetiously named Speedway. Stretching more than 10 miles from Wilmot on the east to the main Pima Community College campus on the west, it sports a fancy new crossing at Country Club before passing through Sam Hughes, where on weekends you'll want to slow down for yard sales. Then it plunges into the middle of the UA campus, where it detours around four separate construction projects. Exit past the UA's Main Gate and you'll pass Starbucks, Coffee Plantation and Café Paraiso, which ought to satisfy any caffeine jones. Then continue on downtown, sharing the road with cars and a trolley, to Fourth Avenue where you just graze the end of the Street Fair. Lots to see and taste. Just don't forget to wear a helmet!
