Rillito Linear Park
READERS' PICK: When you're in the mood to get rolling ... rolling ... rolling down the river, the Rillito Linear Park is the place to do it. Recently expanded to stretch from I-10 all the way to Craycroft Road, the ride offers bikers a nearly uninterrupted run across the valley. The path drops beneath the bridges that cross the Rillito, meaning that bikers--and joggers, walkers, roller-bladers and any other denominations--don't need to interact with the auto. We're particularly fond of new stretches west of Children's Memorial Park on the west end, where the trail passes through a thicket of mesquite trees that provide shady relief from the sun.
