Although Vox Urbana took over the El Casino Ballroom late in January to present their groundbreaking Cumbia Corridos project—a series of real migrant stories turned into heart-wrenching, yet danceable works of living history, it's been a while since the local favorite has performed their own work live in Tucson.
Well, all of that is about to change because on Friday, May 6 Vox Urbana is performing live at Solar Culture Gallery (31 E. Toole Ave.) to break their brief hiatus. Not only that, the cumbia group is performing back-to-back sets, offering two chances for fans to dance the night away to their funky Latin grooves. The music starts at 9 p.m. and there is a $7 cover at the door. For more information on upcoming Solar Culture events, visit solarculture.org.
