B-Sides: B4Skin

SILLY DE MAYO

We all know at this point that Cinco de Mayo isn't, as it's so often incorrectly referred to as, Mexico's Independence Day, right? While you can spend the day chugging margaritas and eating tacos in order to feel like you're doing the holiday some sort of justice, you could also skip all those pretenses and get down to some of Tucson's weirdest local bands.

To say these acts, which include the trampoline-hyped B4Skin, wig-donning Whoops, Lemon Drop Gang and Black Ginger, have a fair amount of antics in store is a bit of an understatement. But they also have some serious pop rock songwriting chops to back all the goofiness up. Plus, since the show is free, you'll have enough cash to blow on a few margaritas at the bar. All four bands play at The Flycatcher on Thursday, May 5, beginning at 8 p.m. Check out the venue's newly re-designed website at flycatchertucson.com for more information on this and other events.
