Learning how to draw or paint, especially nature art, perhaps the grounds and surroundings of the Desert Museum offer art students a special place and access to a beauty they wouldn't find anywhere else. There is a nature art certification program, but the museum's Art Institute also offers a catalog of classes every semester with classes that provide the basics from painting to drawing to photography, and there are classes for those with more experience. Those who are true animal lovers may even find themselves face-to-face with a live desert model brought in for a drawing class—a true desert art-making experience.
