2013 Indigenous Gathering and Community Teach-in
Alianza Indigena Sin Fronteras hosts a teach-in from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m., Saturday, Aug. 10, to recognize the International Day of the World's Indidgenous Peoples. Presenters represent the Indigenous Alliance, UA Center for Latin American Studies, Tonatierra, the Udall Center, Indigenous Youth Activists, Amnesty International, O'Odham in Mexico, International Indian Treaty Council and the Alliance for Global Justice of Tucson. Topics include southern border rights, comprehensive immigration reform, border enforcement policies, indigenous mascots, indigenous rights, indigenous youth, sacred sites and environmental justice.
