Thanksgiving Giving

The Community Food Bank has a high demand for canned meats, vegetables, soups, cereal and peanut butter to be dropped off at all Fry's, U-Store It and vehicle-emissions locations; Tucson Coin; and JOLT Radio, 4433 E. Broadway Blvd. In December, Bashas' will accept food donations.

Humane Sustainability is the theme for Elixer Coffee Solutions' Thanksgiving fundraiser, held on Thanksgiving from 7 a.m. to noon on the north side of Fry's in Oro Valley, at 10661 N. Oracle Road. Just look for Elixer's restored 1952 Studebaker. Light fare including pastries, fruit, cheese and bagels will be on the menu. Elixer will donate the entire morning's proceeds and all tips for that week to Kiva, a nonprofit organization that encourages people to make loans to unique small businesses in the developing world in order to achieve economic independence.

Thanksgiving Dining

Acacia at St. Philip's offers a four-course prix-fixe feast with seasonal favorites for $45 per person at 4340 N. Campbell Ave.; 232-0101; noon to 8 p.m.

Cup Café at Hotel Congress has a three-course menu, including a vegetarian option, for $22 per person, available from noon to 10 p.m.; 311 E. Congress St.; 798-1618.

Hacienda del Lago at del Lago Golf Club in Vail serves a buffet featuring all the Thanksgiving fixings from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m.; adults $30; 14155 E. Via Rancho del Lago; 647-3109.

From 11 a.m. to 4 p.m., the Lodge on the Desert serves a four-course prix-fixe menu for $32 per person at 306 N. Alvernon Way; 325-3366.

Pastiche Modern Eatery will be serving traditional Thanksgiving favorites, highlighted with regional harvest flavors, from noon to 8 p.m. at 3025 N. Campbell Ave.; 325-3333.

Red Sky New American Cuisine will be open from 11:30 a.m. to 8 p.m. serving a modified à la carte dinner menu plus turkey and the fixings at 2900 N. Swan Road; 326-5454.

For most restaurants open on Thanksgiving, reservations are suggested; tax and gratuity are not included; and children's prices are available. Also, check out the hotels and resorts, as most of them will offer Thanksgiving dining specials.
